Plenty of flying going on in CT. Some clubs still have events going on, NCRCC club just had a warbirds event a week or so ago, Swamp Flyers did too last weekend. Most clubs are winding down events for the year, check District 1 website, as well as calendars at RCG, RCU, and Wattflyer. Most clubs welcome guest fliers are well (or should). Our club is having a swap meet at the Air Museum at Bradley this coming Sunday. No flying, just lot's of buying and selling. They have some great new flight sims too!

two indoor locations

Anyone flying in CT. Home base is in Fairfield County but willing to travel.
Mark

Currently there are two indoor locations I fly at.

Friday nights 9-11pm in Newtown at the NYA http://nyasportsfitness.com/about-us/directions-hours/
Two basketball courts in size with aprox 30ft ceiling. Hardwood floor isn't very forgiving, but good for umx size planes.
i fly my Mini scout there but it's a little cramped. Between 3-8 guys a week show up.

Saturday mornings 6-8am in Danbury at the Sportsdome http://danburysportsdome.com/Page.asp?n=72778&org=danburysportsdome.com
Biggest inflated dome in New England (I think). 4 turf soccer sized fields in size 90ft high in the center. Would be nicer if they didn't have 8ft high nets between the fields, but that doesn't affect you too much. Between 5-15 guys a week show up.

Both venues charge $10 a head per day.

When the weather is nice there is a large group of guys that fly in New Milford on Sunday Mornings from dawn to 10am or so. Electric only. Not a club, but there is a core group that has been going there for years, nice guys. on a great day there might be over 20 people there.
The field is behind Pettybone School and adjacent to a Kimberly Clark factory. I put a pin in the Flight Test Members map

Western CT flying would be closer to me than any other FT flying I have found - I am in Poughkeepsie, NY - a quick shot via Rte 84. Good info here, I will check out the venues listed and hope to see you there.

indoor flying done for the season

Just heard this morning that both of the indoor venues I listed are done for the season.
Sorry for the late notice, I was out of town last week.
Weather permitting, there will probably be some folks at the outdoor site in New Milford.
I don't know if I can make it the next two Sundays, but If I'm there, I'll probably be the only one flying any FT planes.

Way cool, I grew up in Newtown (live in Southington now) and I didn't know there was indoor flying available on Friday nights down there. Is the 9-11 PM indoor flying hours set up year round, if not is it just winter time?

Hello from Western CT. I'm in the Danbury area. Still learning to fly! :). Started building a couple 250 size racers. Would love to meet up some weekend.
