Hey FliteTest family,
I was always a fan of the BigTrak back in the 70s. I personally never owned one. But I saw people's review online and explanation of how it works. I'm fairly confident, I'm able to make one with off the shelf components, like an Arduino and shield extension. The BigTrak reborn will be better than the original and includes GPS and all the microchips of an Apple device.
The rough layout comes out to something like this.
