We used a giant rubber band to catapult launch a plane this afternoon! Would make a great episode for Flite Test

Perfect. Does your area where you live sell fireworks year around? If they do, just buy several rocket booster like fireworks and attach it on the airplane, and you've got a really far airplane. At least 100 yards or more. When you make the launch pad.
