Electric Motor Website?

For an internship I'm working at, I need to purchase a quiet, small electric motor (~2" long max). It needs to be able to run at ~40 RPM, which probably means it will need a gearbox.

I don't think the motors for planes would work well because they go for speed more than torque...do you guys know of any vendors or websites that sell quality electric motors like what I'm looking for? The initial motor we purchased was from Pololu <https://www.pololu.com/product/1576>, but it was too loud. I basically need that motor, but much quieter!

Maybe look into the RC Rock crawlers and grab a motor and differential from them. Then you could modify the gearing to suit your needs by 3d printing different ring and pinion gears?

How "tight" on the 40RPM are you looking for and how are you controlling it? Also how much torque do you need?

Usually speeds that low are tough for BLDC motors with voltage mode control (how our ESC's work) or back emf (sensorless brushless DC) since it's a small output BEMF wave.

This little stepper motor would be a good bet (sorry for the ugly link)
