FT Mighty Mini SE5 and battery

I have built the SE5 and am ready to fly. It calls for a Hyperion 850mAh 3s 20c Lipo which I do not see in the store. As some may know, there is not much real estate for a battery on that plane. Which battery would work?

Pretty much any 3s battery between 800 and 1000 mah that's got the long and skinny form factor (the square ones sometimes sold for quads might not fit in the fuselage).

Are you a soldering iron person yet, or do you need to get a battery that already has the proper connector for your ESC installed?

Worked electronics for years. I don't want to spend too much money for two reasons. One, I have had zero luck with the mighty minis and two this plan is one of the reasons I have had zero luck with the mighty minis.

In that case I'd try this Glacier 800 mah one to save a little weight and budget compared to a 1000 mah one - just double check the width and make sure it'll fit. I've got several Glacier batteries that are still going strong on two years of service.

I'm also a fan of the China Hobby Line batteries, especially for big batteries. They've got a 1000 mah that's a little more expensive, but not too much

Thank you for the info. I think I have decided to scrap the plan instead. I have many small 3s batteries and buy one to fit one plane is a bit wasteful to me.

I did bookmark both places because I need future references. The one I bought from the FT store barely lasted three months so I am going to find better quality batteries.

What size 3s batteries do you currently have? You could wire a pair of them up in parallel perhaps...
