Just thought i would post up and say hello. As soon as the power pack c is back in stock i am gonna pull the trigger on my first FT plane and get the storch. Been drooling over a bunch of designs such as the Ripslinger, bushwacker and Sea Duck but being a new pilot i need something a little easier to build and fly and think the storch will do great. I am not sure i have enough garage space for all the planes i want to build, but it sure is gonna be fun trying. :)

I commend you on your restraint. The Storch is going to make a nice stable first plane. That and the desire to build many planes puts you on the right track to enjoy this hobby. I wish you all the best.

Hey Jim. I am from Oregon. I been into RC since i was a kid, but planes were never a part of it. Mostly rc cars and trucks, crawlers and such. I saw the video on youtube about the sea duck and all the memories of loving that show when i was a kid got me to asking why i never tried an RC plane. Got a Sport Cub S off ebay and i am proud to say i can fly now...the plane is half scotch tape and half jb weld now, but it keeps bringing a smile to my face.

Thanks Stefan. Glad to be here and be a tiny part of this cool thing you guys got going on. The storch video of you trying to tie the streamer on while Josh circled sealed the deal on the storch. I need a plane that can do that and a crazy friend to chase it with streamers!! ha ha ha

Hi GotCox, just finished a Storch build. Not flown it yet (next weekend). I to are new to RC pick the Storch for the same reasons you did. The kit is Fab! everything to build it, spare props you name it. Great to work with that foam board. I painted mine in flat pack first. I did go a bit sill on the finish but..... Enjoy. I will let you know how it flies for a Noobie like me. ow, tip. If you use RC Desk Pilot sim. got to the FT site and down load a heap of FT models including the Storch. Not sure how accurate it flies but is good practice. I will be on it all week before the big day.

Cheers

Great looking plane dude. I hope it flys great for ya. Did you do yours with flaps or without flaps?

I couldn't take the wait for the power packs to get in stock so i ordered the storch without and will grab one when they get in stock. How much can i build the plane up without the electronics? I know some of the steps have to wait till i have the servo's so i can get the throws right and servo location right. I need to watch the build video again and that should give me a better idea. Stoked to get going on my first build. Gonna try and learn as much as i can from it. Flaps, flaperons, leading edge flaps, mixes and learn how they all work and what they all do and what i like.

Forgot to update. Plane done, flys great. Gonna leave this one unpainted and get another speed build kit and make it all nice for when this one no longer holds together.

Great paint job dude!! That thing is beautiful. I love my storch and i am not sure how anyone can fly a well built one without loving it. Touch and go all day, wind or no wing it don't care.

How well does it fly without a wing? lol I still need to make one of these, I have been eyeing this up for a while now.

ha ha ha Good catch. Darn wind....wing...so close.

I dig my storch. It isn't a super acrobatic plane, it aint fast. But flys so smooth and easy. Throw the flaps down and it will fly backwards on a windy day.

This would be a perfect piggy back plane for my giant toothpick glider, I can't go too fast with it or it'll fall apart.

Ya i want to make a simple soarer just to tow up with the storch and let my buddies glide it down. So much fun.
