New to building planes but not new to building

Hello every one! im new into the RC aircraft world,not in the RC though,raced and tech my RC for a while,just new to the planes, any way lets cut to the chase,
Im building the FT Torch and its big from my point of view,and its perfect size and all,but what is the correct power plant for a semi windy day or bigger like my self? also will post pictures soon of the project, and what radio do you all recommend?

In the build article (http://flitetest.com/articles/ft-simple-storch-build) for the Storch, FT recommends a Suppo 2217/7 1200kv Brushless Motor (Park 425 equivelant). If you wanted to purchase the parts from FT, the power pack C (https://store.flitetest.com/power-pack-c-fixed-wing-large/) would be a good fit.
