New to RC Airplane World...

Hello ALL...

I am in the Leavenworth Kansas area. I have built 4.5 "Dollar Tree" foam airplanes to date, but have NOT maiden-ed any of them - yet!!

I am looking for local clubs to try to learn from! I am 60 years old, handicapped and can no longer walk without assistance. I can use crutches and or my electric wheelchair to get around, which limits traveling in soft grass areas.

Due to rather windy gusts here, and recent COLD temps I had chickened out on trying to fly my planes!

Please let me know where and how to contact any local clubs...

Thanks an advance!

Still Learning
I have similar issues. I recently bought a large folding wagon to hold a chair and planes and assorted stuff. I've only had the chance to use it once, but it more or less worked. Since it's winter now, the grass is rather short. We'll see how it all works in the summer.

I also have an electric scooter thing. It can go through any reasonable grass field that is flat (not a farmer's field that has been plowed). I may try pulling the wagon behind the cart. But, the electric scooter is heavy and takes up a lot of the room in the car. Getting the wagon, cart and planes in the car without damaging the planes will be a challenge.

I may add something to the cart that allows me to carry planes and dispense with the wagon on days I want to use the cart.

(I got both of these on open box warehouse deals, and so I paid less)

As for contacting local clubs, I would look on the AMA site: http://www.modelaircraft.org/ for clubs near you.

Thank you Mike!!

When I get home I will check your links and see your items. I did make a PVC carrier using 1/2 inch pipe. I have not joined the AMA, yet but plan on it.

Hey Mike!
I love to see your mind working on how you can carry your planes with your cart! It is always great to see people thinking outside the box while still using practical methods and materials! LOVE IT!

Thanks for all you do and happy flying my friend!
