Every year, the second weekend of September, the desert just north of Reno Nevada comes alive with the sound of smoke belching, fire breathing speed machines.
It's the Reno National Championship Air Races!!!
It's six classes of aircraft, racing over five days, concluding with the Unlimited division Gold Race on Sunday.
To see, hear and FEEL P-51 Mustangs, F8F Bearcats, Hawker Sea Fury's and many other types of aircraft racing around an 8 mile course at 50 feet off the deck and approaching (and sometimes exceeding) speeds of 500 MPH is something to behold!
I realize this years races are too close for you guys to make the trek out and enjoy but... I challenge you to get it on the calendar for 2015!!!
