It didn't look too terribly tail heavy, maybe a tendency to nose up, but otherwise I think it looked just fine. A power-off or low-power glide beforehand would have told you a lot about your cg placement. It looked to me like your biggest problem was the wind you got into once you were above the trees.

Sorry for your crash mate, your design is great.
Could you let us know what do you use for your wing template ? Is it cardboard with aluminium tape ? and how do you fix them to the foam to cut your wing ?
Also what kind of wire do you use for rudder & elevator ?

I did use cardboard templates with aluminium tape, you can see a pic of those in an earlier post. I just fix them with a tiny drop of hot glue, doesn't need much more
I used nylon wire for the tail controls, the one I used was a bit thin but it worked.
