Help! trim vs sub-trim

I have a question about trim numbers compared to sub-trim numbers. If my left elevator trim is -74, is that the same number that equals 74 degrees down on sub trim? I am wanting to move the trim to 0 on trim, and move that deflection into sub-trim.

No it does not relate to degrees each transmitter will have a different amount of trim and subtrim. The BEST way to do it is once amount of trim that is needed then make the change physically to the servo and flight surface. Subtrim is used NORMALLY to center a servo arm before connecting the push rods.
