I've seen this before it's from Martin Marietta, it's american and was tested for a body that produces lift and it was the second of three prototypes but I don't know its name?

It's been a while since the last post and I iust wanted to share this unique aircraft. What is it? No cheating, can't edit pics for om my phone.. thing.jpg

I researched the airline (Commuter Airlines) and found that it a Beechcraft Model 18 with a DuMod mod. The mod added 15 seats, a nose wheel and a tri-tail. Very interesting.

Yep, a DuMod conversion. Stig got it first. My dad flew these for Commuter, said they were under powered, but fun because you could lean the mixture by watching the color and size of flames shooting out the exhaust. There's also a slight dorsal fin forward of the central fin. I believe there were only a handful of full conversions. Of the two that flew for Commuter, only one survives, flying cargo somewhere.
