I decided I wanted a big boy transmitter so I ordered a Turnigy 9XR PRO, Orange JR/Turnigy module, and a lipo for it from HobbyKing....
About 3 days later I got a email from there support team. At this point I am just going to post the emails so you can see what I dealt with.

Hello John,

I would like to inform you that sku #: 9171000070 from order number: ########### is missing from our stock at this time. Items are typically restocked within 30 days, however this is not guaranteed for every item.

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=68573

I would like to ask if you would like to wait for the item to be restocked (delays the entire order), cancel the back-ordered item, or cancel the entire order. Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

Thank you for emailing support. I am happy to assist with any other issues.

Man that sucks,
It is still showing in stock online. Is there anyway to give me more info on how soon it will restocked?

HK Mar 31, 05:26:

Hello John,

As there is no indicated container information, there is no visible plan to restock this item at the immediate time (within a week or two). To be entirely honest, my personal outlook for this item is that it will not be stocked in the local warehouses anymore as the two US warehouses are the only local warehouses that are not X'ed out in the stock sheet and there is not delivery pending to restock either warehouse.

Thank you for emailing support. I am happy to assist with any other issues.

Being that all items showed in stock when I ordered can the module be sent to me from the international Warehouse?

So I am very aggravated:mad: at this point and would like to get a decent transmitter but am tired of dealing with it. I would like it to be DSMX/DSM2 compatible, In my price range, and not from HobbyKing... not that they have anything in stock.

for 180 I would get a Taranis personally.

you'll of course still need to get a DSM module if you want spektrum compatibility. Question is, do you need DSMX compatibility right away, or is this for future BNF stuff ? for anythign not BNF I would reccomend FrSKy ACCST receivers anyway.

I have an Orange Rx T-Six. I've been using it for about two years now and I'm very happy with it. If/when I do decide to upgrade it, I'm very heavily leaning toward the Taranis.

It is a quality product from a quality company. It will be in stock, no runaround and it is DSMX compatible and has a lot of support (model programs you can pull off of the web).

I bought the DX6i over the Orange because I know it will work with all of my equipment.

So am I just getting pulled in by the bells and whistles when I look at the dx6 and think this is pricey compared to 9x.

I've been very happy with my DX6 - even if it was a little pricier than other options. I know Horizon products aren't always the cheapest and are pretty comparable to others feature wise, but I've found their customer service to be outstanding. Although HK has always made everything right when their products have...shall we say...failed to meet expectations, it's usually been a hassle with a little bit of a runaround. Others may have had different experiences.

Taranis is the WAY to go. A few dollars more BUT has features of some very HIGH end radios costing nearly 3 or 4 times as much. I have gone through 5 different brands of radio in the last 3.5 years and Taranis is hands down the best bang for the buck.

I like the looks of the DX6 but it does not take Modules and it is only 6 channels.
