I'm in NO WAY stealing this idea, but I figured it was a more appropriate post here on FT.

So, if you haven't seen the 3D Yak55 on RCgroups - here ya' go. https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?964237-EPPYak55-build-guide-videos-free-plans

Reason I posted over here is we're more comfortable with DTFB - so, I adapted the build to DTFB :) and I can say, this thing is a riot.

For a dollar and change, and some junk in your tool box

The original plans are here:

I used the 30" version (scroll down a bit) and it was 1 new sheet of DTFB plus some additional scrap pieces.

My AUW is 300g with a 3S 1000mAh!!!
Cheapie 30A Amazon ESC
Hextronik "blue wonder" clone, but I goofed and bought the 3000kV version!!!
7x4 prop - max draw is about 12A
1x cheapie 9g servo
2x cheapie 5g servos

Some notes:
1- I used 3 BBQ skewers (cut to length) in the main wing and covered with reinforced packing tape. NOT ENOUGH (I got crazy wing wander)
2 - I used carbon fiber rods for long rear linkage arms.
3 - I DID NOT CUT THE FUSE in half when I did the assembly. I measured the cut-out for the wing and pushed it through.
\4 - I added an additional cheapie paint stick (big craft stick) to each wing after initial flight. I had a wing almost fold over. I also added a strip of reinforcement from just behind the aieleron servo to just ahead of the aeileron cut OVER the tongue depressor wing brace.
5 - the wing is actually the black DTFB with the paper peeled off and covered in clear packing tape. Not worth ths hassle. leave the paper on, and then cover it in tape along with the additional reinforcement above.

no landing gear.

Initial thoughts? OMG THIS IS FUN - for a buck? Cut 10, build 1. Destroy it and start over. It wants to fly about.....4mph, but will hover, roll, spin and do anything else like crazy.

If you have PhxRC, it's pretty darn close to the Zivko Edge.
