Maiden flight of my Flite Test Pietenpol - build from a speed build kit.

Didn't go exactly to plan - but it did go!

Thanks Flite Test.

Wake up! Time to fly!
Well done all around. Looks and flys great. Those speed build kits are very well done so they are super easy to build as long as people are not hamfisted with glue guns like me. That's why I squeegee every thing hehe.

Thanks guys, for your support.

Two questions:
1. Any advice on retaining wheels? 😀
2. Any thoughts on what I should build next. Bearing in mind that my flying field is a football field at the local high school (as seen in the video). I think I'd like to go 4 channel next time.

Thanks again.

I’ve had some luck using hot glue to hold the wheals on but mostly use old school wheel collars.
Regarding you next plane, keep it about the same size, big planes need a big field. You can always add ailerons to any plane. The F22 is a fun plane.

I've used scotch tape with great success, holds better than hot glue

As your next plane I'd suggest Simple Scout, it's slightly bigger but you should have no problem flying in over football field.
