Hey, I love the look of this skinmer and I think the skates will keep it tracking straighter than most.
Question: How would an old helicopter be used for this? Or maybe a better question is what kind? I have an old Syma s107 which is a coaxial with upward facing tail fan. Would you use the two rotor motors and then just omit the tail motor? Seems like it would work since the up/down control on the heli would be forward thrust, and yaw would be differential thrust.
Maybe I could be creative with the tail rotor and mount it vertically to give on-demand downforce/lift for the nose. 🙂
A possible issue with my s107 guts is that the transmitter is infrared, so I’m not sure if that would work outside in the snow. Ever tried that?
