Hello Dear Flite Test Buddies ,

im new here and im want to share my build of a Bleriot XXVII from 1911 .

The Bleriot XXVII was a middle-wing, single-seat racing aircraft designed by Louis Bleriot.

These are the stats of the real Bleriot XXVII:

General characteristics

  • Crew: 1
  • Length: 7.50 m (24 ft 7 in)
  • Wingspan: 8.90 m (29 ft 2 in)
  • Wing area: 12 m2 (130 sq ft)
  • Gross weight: 430 kg (948 lb)
  • Powerplant: 1 × Gnome 7 Omega 7-cylinder air-cooled rotary piston engine, 37 kW (50 hp)
  • Propellers: 2-bladed
  • Maximum speed: 125 km/h (78 mph, 67 kn)
My build of this magnificent aircraft will be made from 3mm Depron (u can use every foam you want) and barbeque skewers and wooden coffee stirs .
Down below you can see some pictures of the real Bleriot XXVII that is displayed at the RAF Museum Hendon .

I hope you will like my documentary of the build. Plans may follow but i will first draw everything by hand .

Sincerely Daniel

The Bleriot used wing warping for roll control. It would be a serious challenge if you can use that!
That would be a big challenge , maybe i will try that in a second model 🤔 but first it will be 3 Channel or maybe 4 channel . Im more the type of guy that figures everything out while building . Only thing i plan out ist the fuselage and Wing Dimensions .

I recently bought the Motor and ESC of the Zohd Drift Glider . I'm installing it in my 60% FT Explorer . Have a look , it's not expensive .
