1975 Models West Inc. "the 4 Bits"

This was a 10 day build of a vintage quickie 500 type kit that was given to me as a gift from a flying buddy. This is the first airplane I completed. I had many attempts before this.

What's up with that last pic?!?!?! It was a nice stick kit...now that you built it, you know how to repair it!!! You have gained skills!!!!!!

Just as I was beginning to get comfortable with the speed of the plane I lost radio communication with her and my heart broke as she spiraled to the ground at about 100 mph. Upon finding the crash site in the brush. When I picked up the receiver the Rx crystal was nowhere to be found. So now one of the skills I have learned is that when I fly FM I make sure I put tape over the Rx crystal just to be sure that it wont happen again.

Thank you very much! I was really proud of it, and I still am. I can't wait to build another.
