Where are you getting that list of entries already? I haven't seen anything in post #2 regarding official entries yet
Okay, so given the current entries (an F-104 as a flying entry. Really? Maybe as a lawn dart, but other than that...) I guess this has opened up beyond WWII a wee bit. I'm still looking at a WWII design but have to look at what was done last time.
@Flyingshark I’m not sure.🧐

I am confused by what point number 6 means, can you explain in further what you mean by multiple pilots and teams? @Zephyr1
Also how much ft similarity do you want? Like if I make it have a power pod and molded wings and an octagonal half master series fuse is that fine? And is it fine if I model it by wingspan (like 30") not by scale (like 1/10 or 1/20)?
Hey, sorry about that, I copypasted the former 2018 rules but without the Flite Fest event sections. That was a hold over from that contest's rules of trying to have a team event at FF.

For similarity to FT, essentially do whatever you want. In the words of Barbossa:

So wingspan, and whatever foamboard building techniques you'd like.

What are you referencing? I've seen no entries, much less an F-104. I'm confused.

I'm finding that several of the designs that leapt into my mind when I first saw this were already done previously.

I suppose that doesn't stop one from doing a different take if you really wanted to however. Regardless of that, I've found a number of interesting designs, some that flew, and some that were purely on paper that ought to work.

Thats' fine, what were the designs that you thought of?

Started designing my entry, any guesses?
Is it a Sack AS-6? I think both the Vought circular-winged planes had twin vertical tails, but there aren't very many other planes with a wing like that...

Are you just going to do elevons with those big control surfaces, or is there going to be an elevator on the tail?

Yes, sack as6. I’m gonna try to have an elevator.

How'd you guess it so quickly?:)

I did some research on circular winged planes after the contest came out, but I decided one of those would be biting off more than I can chew in terms of design complexity.

I’m going to go in a different direction with my entry, but I learned about the AS-6 in the process! There really were a lot of crazy experimental planes from that era. :)

I suggest elevons. My pizza pan wing experiments showed a tendency to do stupid things during stall that they would prevent or mitigate
