Hmmm... maybe get a Millennium Flerken and a 2306 motor...I hit 88mph with mine today!
man….i am definitely gonna build another….probably soon.

once i get one built, get it air born and fly it…i am going to make a “slammed” version, one that does not have a top and lower deck inside, so only like 3.5-4” tall total. i image that would be extremely fast.

maybe start flying just no gyro period....It takes a lot more nerve (I know because I have finally gotten off it) and there isn't that assurance that if you get into trouble you can just flick a switch...i find though it seems smoother without it than flicking a switch for some reason...maybe less lag.
man you nailed it….it takes nerves…no mistakes.

i am pretty OCD on say getting my ailerons and rudder set so the plane flies straight as possible before even trimming….then trim once plane is up, get it where its dead straight with no gyro….all that being said, i am getting more comfortable with knowing, no gyro, give it some gas and the plane will want to go straight…but the movements are so tiny. expo was a huge game changer, once i figured that out and started adjusting, thats what made no gyro possible.

Yeah and turn down your rates,,,i BIG mistake for me was to think "Yeah, I want as much control as possible...The guys at FT are talking about for people who are really bad at controlling and I will just do small movements......No. you really need to turn down the rates! LOL

how low do you go?

i kinda just drop till its flyable….not exactly a science….

i have some planes i run in the 30/40 area…but even then they are pretty twitchy.

Mr SPEED!
i still use my smaller volantex planes to practice no gyro, actually spent about 30 mins today flying my little 400mm p51 with no gyro.

my issue with no gyro is getting out of trouble….i just am not good enough to get out of say a spiraling inversion if it had to be super fast.
Yeah, I’ve got one too. And watch out for those stalls!

For trainers warbirds ect I usually have about 3/4 -1" movement for small plane have it about 3/8 - 1/2" movement (The smaller the plane the less movement usually.

you guys got a way you calculate rates?

been intrigued since we talked rates…
i also gotta get the 2814 Alpha back out for a test with the GPS speedo.

yeah, i find a good starting place is 75, so 3/4 ish….do a lap at the park and bring it back. i havent lost a plane in so long i am still sketched to test this next one…which, i got more prop adaptors today snd got a 5x5 on.

i think i am gonna do rates at 75 and gain on A3 at 25, man that last test on the plane i lost…man that plane was like a cracked out squirl on red bull scorching through the air…

i did, they are different than the “standard ft”, if any one wants a set, i will draw them out in “ft” style.

i would actually love for someone else to build it snd see what can be improved, changed, etc.

its an extremely simple build. i am working towards a shared single thin fuselage that i can put different wings on.

ME, ME! (Although I’ll change the wing, because I’ll be running a 7x9- 7x15 prop)

i will absolutely get you guys a set. probably wont till be late in the weekend though.

talk to me about the wing? whatcha think’n?

the current wing is no different than any other FT wing you have built, 60 degree wing sweep. i very carefully cut the inside of the wing where it mates to the body to match the angle, sand the body, glue the entire thing in. i use a 1/2” piece of plywood to set the wing on when mounting, do the same to both side so the wings are even.

That’s not the problem, I just need more wingspan😂

I might have to build it sometime too!
