Everyone, this is the builders knife down point for measuring the finish level for the contest.

That said, please finish your planes. And share your flight experiences in the next week. And don't forget your thoughts on each build.

I say this every year, and I mean it every time because its true. This was a very encouraging crew this year, it seems as if everyone captured the spirit of the challenge well. I am proud to consider myself amongst this Calibur of RC pilots I can't wait to see those of you going to FF this year, and happy to have built like a fool this month with each and every one of you.

As with every year, the month of Build-ruary was a steady challenge fighting against time and outside factors, some known and other surprises.

In short - Thank every one of you for joining in and attempting this deceptively difficult challenge.

I can't wait to see the maiden vids!

It was fun to follow along with the builds even though (I didn't get to do any building (Though I was finally able to get my new work space setup tonight!😁) Sorry all, that I wasn't able to participate as much this year👍

My attempt seemed to start late somehow… so for the two weekends i tackled this in earnest, I am pleased. I am so please about the rebuild of the DTFB puri.
I did spent too much (no such thing) time focused on the giant scale version. But i worked out a few of the issues, i added complexity with the rib caps, bit it was the right call. I discovered again, i don’t like working with polyurethane glues in closed spaces. And unless i had a hangar, its all cluttered. Overall i didn’t think this one through all the way. I mean how do i get it to the field?!
The pint jet was a delight. More complex to build then i thought. If you have an EZ pack, build it!
The micro surfer was inspired but needs more work. I will keep at it. Right now, it’s flight is more a falling with style.

As always i enjoy being part of this contest community banter, and see what every decides to do, and how that evolves into what you end up with. Next time i will include a link to a vid discord channel so we can meet there and build together.

Think I will be doing FinishUary this year. Need to get all these almost done builds in the air this year.
FinishUary turned into Fixuary and Finduary, but this will help me March ahead on all the almost finshed builds. Got a lot organized and now have my 3D printers working well which will let me finish all those almost done 3D printed planes and stalled out builds.

Cheers!

Finished the maidens today. Radjet flew for about 5 seconds and now needs repaired.🤷‍♂️ Duckling did good untill the NEW servo on the elevator partially failed. Got her down in one piece replaced the servo. Then it just got too windy. Will post videos in next day or too.

You will have to beat me first😉😂
This is a whole nother discussion!

Peter sripol has the current world record i think.

i like to think I have a close runner up with the 300% Noob Wonder. The other giant scales tend to abandon the foam board construction for more weather-sturdy material.

The 400% Puri uses fanfold and wood. Many large rc and Full scale planes are built from wire-cut float-foam or styro-foam blocks.

How foam board only are we talking… because i have ideas
