This specific EZ design above is supposed to be a high-alpha flier. You can, though, adjust the trim to make it fly fast and level with the battery adjusted accordinlgy too, but the idea of this plane wasn't for it to be a fast flier. If I want a fast EZ plane, I have the EZ Hornet

Long(er) story: I need to invest in new electronics. My motors are pretty beat up and the FT Explorer definitely didn't reach it's flying potential...
