As of the March 8th this contest has closed.
Judging will commence. Best of luck.

I tried to re-maiden, and regretted the choice. The wind sock was straight out! I am a fool with a twice broken plane now.

But i did fly the EZ Pint Jet at dusk and lost it. But found it and flew it into the headwind back to the car.

OK guys, I have managed to review everyone contest Entry page and the progress therein.

Before I start this, I want to note a I note for special mention @Rara as he completed 4 (without color nor flight footage) with no footage or color. He was on track until printer difficulties. Good effort Uncle Rara.

I first went through and checked to see how many of you completed the four planes (at least). There are 3 Contestants who finished the challenge completely. I want to note that these three had very similar quality and depth to their entries. And as always, it impresses me.
TOP 3
They are (in order of Entry) - @AgentC , @RickHunter , @Jo's squadron

Then I checked each category of scoring for how many planes covered each of the 5 main categories. if it was there it was a check.
  • Declaration - What and Why - 5pts
  • Build Log,(with pictures), 8-pts
  • Was there color on the plane, 4pts
  • Is the flight evidence, 4 pts
  • Take-aways 4pts
This showed me where the scores sat quickly. to find the recipient of Bragging Rights,
this Incredible Virtual Trophy! and Title of FTFC26: Buildruary Winner! *(put it in your banner)*;

I do this every year after the Judging is done. I ask for everyone to weigh in with a Stop, Start, Continue, in efforts to make this better for next time. What things should I start doing (things I should have done), what things should I Stop doing. Which things are must haves, good things to Continue doing next time.
I'll start off showing you how helpful this was from last year.
StopStartContinue
  • Promising kits from a machine that you don't have working.
  • Ghosting the Hobby after starting a contest!
  • Beating myself up for having life happen.
  • Have contest signup open earlier - (October?)
  • Set calendar alarms for deadlines.
  • Have the prize packaged, ready for a label.
  • See about granting a 1-month (Title) to the winners avatar
  • Add Bonus for things like
    • Fleet icons
    • Pilots
    • Build-night participation
    • Community Bolstering?
  • Encouraging contestants to post progress Photos
  • requiring color
  • Offer Discord Build-Nights (does everyone have access to discord?)
I Stopped successfully *not better for the contest though). I forgot to start doing most of this. and I missed posting Build-together nights

What are your STOP, START, CONTINUES?

Thanks for hosting, as always, @FoamyDM, and congrats to @RickHunter!

I always enjoy this contest/motivation to make new planes. I would forget if the signup was in October. I like an early January though, so we can research designs, and get the prep done (which I was too late at this year).

I also rushed my maidens due to bad weather, so if suggest having a 2-week gap for those to get completed to allow for a touch more leeway.

Otherwise, it's fun to get building again, and getting back into the flying spirit. Thanks again for a great annual contest!

Thank you much. I'm going for the hat trick. You better jump in on D'arch. There is only 3 of us so far I think. I'm finishing the 200% Legacy with the launch payload for a Radjet and @FoamyDM is finishing his 400% Puri. Be a good time to fix your Monster A-10 and give us a challenge. 😁

Nice work guys!
I think the weather is really what kept me out of the running. I have to do my painting outside, and even the days where it was warm enough, it was much too windy.

For anyone interested in the F-35 and Macross builds, I will update those in the coming weeks still in my Builduary thread. I have to have both done for an event in April anyway...

Mr Man

Mr SPEED!
So i have time for the speed challenge!?
I hope you do! It’s lots of fun. And lots of tinkering, and pondering how to beat your opponents 😂. I’ve got a 200a esc this year. Not that I’m going to be pulling 200 amps 🤣 . (because my next highest are 80 amp esc’s. and I know I’ll be pulling around 100)
