Get rid of parasitic drag wherever you can, put a hot high kv motor on, and send it!

If that's where your reflex is at rest, it looks close to where mine was at maiden. Be ready to trim down... but each plane is different. I'd rather have too much up than down on a hand launch 😬

I bet the foamboard bird will be pretty fast for that type of construction!

I did just get 4 4S batteries for free from work though so I could run 8S... but they're 13,000mah and I'm pretty sure I can't run fast enough to get this thing off the ground with two of those 💀

Thanks for the heads up. I sprayed some neon orange stripes on one side of the top wing, and yellow on the other side to help with orientation. It was a quick 10 o'clock in the darkish hack job, but she was never ment to be a beauty queen.

I've learned my lesson... at that speed even with colors you think will pop, these little guys get small in a hurry. I cut the throttle and headed straight up after a pass and still made it to "questionable" heights 🤣

Even with no power, if you throw something straight up at 200 mph you'll hit around 1300 ft if you ignore drag

Yea my 80mm mirage 2000 and even the V1200 get hard to keep track of sometimes, and there bigger and slower. It's gonna be epic one way or another.

Due to wind, flights have been canceled again. They will die down by this afternoon, but foamboard and 3d printed planes don't like the 100+ degree weather and blazing sun. Friday is the next try at it.

I wish I'd bought two new batteries instead of just one to test 🤣

....but now that I think about it, I could have easily taken my drone backpack and had multiple slightly smaller batteries to have for emergencies. Hindsight
