Got another suggestion for you. For launching, take a picnic table and fold one end and tilt the table up to an angle of 30 to 45 degrees. That way, 1/2 to roughly 3/4 of EDF thrust will help lift as it leaves the table.

Important thing to remember is as it leaves the table, the torque will rotate the plane. Since you don't have rudder, you need to counteract it with your elevons. By using the table method, it eliminates the time delay of throwing the plane to putting your hand on the elevon control. At fast speeds, it will mean a "save" from diaster.
Unfortunately the wing loading is way to much for hand or table launch. I could easily print out a launch dolly for this, but it will be much more fun and epic to launch it from my Monster FT Legacy, which is still the plan. She is ready to fly now, and the Monster Legacy is already built (minus the launch system). As soon as I finish the last couple things on the JH Sharknado and eliminator, I will start start on the launch system. I already have it designed in CAD, so minus some refining, it hopefully will go smooth.

Hope you get video of flight, with a heavy wing loading, you might end with a pitch down situation with the EDF.

Is there any plan to extend the speed challenge deadline? While I can't complain about the standings as they are, I'm honestly hoping for someone else to win. Plus, it would be unfortunate if the top speed this year was 30 mph slower than last year

I was thinking that would be nice, but I didn't know if you would mind....I would really like to get a speed run in, just I'm outta cash, currently looking for a job, and my current airframe and prop are toast!😂😂 If ya'll are are game we can extend it!

I’d like that for sure! My Squidjet wouldn’t turn, so all of those electronics are gone 🤣. But I’ve got my 2350kv 2814, and a pylon racer I designed a while back.

I'm all for extending it as much as people need

That sucks, I've had that happen to me before and it somehow feels worse than a normal crash because it's so close to working
I agree, it was flying, but just had the turn radius of an SR-71 Blackbird. 😂😂 Hopefully this hotliner goes much better. (it should, it's a high wing, with a longer wingspan with less chord)

I'm okay with an extension too... I just got back from work in Michigan and I THINK my motors came in, but I can't pick them up until Monday. So I still have to build my plane 😂
