Hey folks, started this project about 8 months ago, and have been crashing it ever since, and only just now got something that resembles a flight...however short it was. This bird just didnt want to be in the air.
The EDF has a 20mm impeller and an 0603 brushless motor, 12000kv I think, designed and built by fellow micro RC'er, NitroCharged...if you like micro EDFs, you'll want to check out his channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/NitroCharged/videos We've worked on a project or two in the past, and he was kind enough to send me the EDF unit, so big thanks to him.
The model has an 7.5" span, 28 gram AUW with the 180mah 2S lipo, motor puts out around 26g thrust, two linear servos for the elevons, a Sunrise high frequency switching ESC, and a 6 channel 2.4ghz receiver. All balsa for the construction.
I'll be pulling the electronics out soon and starting on a more standard airframe design for the next model...this one did not do the EDF justice!
