This feels like a time capsule. I just finished my first year of college and I'm revisiting this page I made when I was 15. I still have the plane. Should I finish it this summer?
Sure. So going from where we left off, this is the state of the fuselage. It's good apart from a broken former. I guess my plan was to sheet the thing with 1/16 balsa
I remember the thing that turned me off this project was the wing mount. I don't totally remember what my plan was in designing it, but it's probably going to be difficult.
Working on the wings now. Im changing a couple things. I reduced the chord width and switched from gull wings to normal dihedral. The fuselage is looking good.
Taking a slot out of the spars so I can splice them together. Basswood only comes in 2ft, not long enough to span a wing. It's usually done with epoxy. Since I'm working in my bedroom, I'll use wood glue instead to avoid falling into a permanent sleep.
