Something I've testing tomorrow.

Specs
60"x10" wing. Simple crease bend/glue
30" fuselage. Adding pieces to make the frame stiff.
350g

TURNIGY 2204-14T 19g Outrunner
TowerPro 9g w12A Brushless Speed Controller
ZIPPY Compact 500mAh 2S 35C Lipo Pack
GWS Style 8040 Propellers
HXT500 6.2g / 0.6kg / .08sec Micro Servo (Elevator & Rudder)
Turnigy XR5000 Receiver for Turnigy 4X TX

- So this was my test plane.
Cracked up the tail but it proved to me I could make a 2S slow flier.

So the field test did not go as well as I'd hoped.

The plane just kept banking left and over powering the rudder.
I've balanced the wing, increased the rudder's size and added ailerons.

It works!

I added a 2nd battery to the front for ballast and suddenly I was flying.

So now I'm really going to work on this design.

Do a proper wing, folded over and so on and see if I can get it to be a little sleeker.

I have not done a scratch build design for 42 yrs. and have done a lot of mods to existing designs and it is great when a mod or self design works.

I'm still fiddling with this project.

It flew over the weekend but lacked the punch to get the plane into the air.

Needs to go on a diet I guess.

I had the same issue with 2s and 8x4. Roughly same weight, using a Turnigy Park300 1600 kv. Interestingly, on a different plane, and 7x5 prop, it worked much better!
