This is a fully 3D-printed thrust stand I designed for testing larger RC motors, including 50xx-size outrunners. It’s built strong enough to handle serious torque without flexing, and it can be printed on any basic FDM printer.


Materials & Hardware
  • 6 mm carbon-fiber rod for the axle/pivot.
  • 7 mm carbon-fiber rod or CF arrow shafts inside the printed...

Will be trying it out this weekend. I Live a mile high so curious to see what it says with my 5065's. Biggest props I got are 17, but after your test results I think I'll need some bigger ones.

Went great. I used control rods in the little holes the you put for alignment which made it easy peezy. Thank you. After the monster build and another project I'm gonna teach myself some autodesk fusion. Got two 3d printers, but I'm just basically a "copy and paste" printer right now. Thanks again.

No prob!👍 (My beta version didn't have the alignment holes and it was a little difficult try to get these perfectly straight so I added them)

Know how to design is awesome! There are so many things that I find that are broken ect and then I remember I can just go quick design it and about an hour later, boom! I got a replacement part I would NEVER been able to find online, for 50 cents or less!) BTW if you have never heard of it, Onshape is easier and has a faster workflow in my OP, though I am sure if you learn Fusion well you can get quick on that too 👍

I'll have to check it out. 3d printing comes in super handy in this hobby. I've printed too many parts to count, and even two different planes. One of which I love and one not so much.

The eclipson cobra. Did a v-tail version. Alot of fun 50mm 4s. Easy to fly, just gotta watch the landing. Didn't like the model B that much.

Looks awesome. The Versa is one of my favorites. Me and my buddy fiberglass the front edges and run them through the arroyos (natural drainage ditch) by my house. We beat those up more than any other planes I got.
