3D printed aircraft are becoming more popular and common in the hobby. More people on this form have created 3D printed aircraft which starts a new chapter for Flite Test! Flite Test has already sponsored companies that design the 3D printed aircraft (3DPA), but the community of DIY’er’s who also design 3DPA should share their thoughts and ideas to help each other succeed in developing these lightweight plastic masterpieces! In addition, shape the future of Flite Test!

Although everyone gets together and shares their DIY at Flite Fest. I thought it was a good idea to meet and collaborate with some people who specifically 3D print and design in CAD!

Any ideas on where we could get together at Flite Fest 2025? Is there a specific tent that more 3D printed aircraft live?

A photo of what I’m working on for FF-2025! It’s a hybrid 3D printed Versa Wing.

🤣 I was worried I was the only procrastinator! Please bring something to share even if it doesn’t fly yet. Because your design might inspire someone else!
I know you have a lot of projects but what is your favorite one?
Also, do you think you could get one done? I started from scratch 40 days from FF! A lot of time was spent, probably more than 50 hours in total! There is still time before FF to complete something you started. Anything is possible! I didn’t have any experience in 3D printed aircraft when I started 40 days ago. Now I can design CAD and print at great efficiency!
In addition several other life obstacles were thrown at me while trying to complete the 3D printed plane!

I always bring my OctoUFO.

I could plausibly finish building a PRANDTL flying wing.

At this point, the majority of my planes are 3D printed, so I'll have several with me at FlightFest this year.
Planing to bring my Eclispon Model C, Model B, Model V, Go1 Wolf, 3DAeroventures X-100, and 3DlabPrint VL Pyorremyrsky.

I have two ducted fan jets in process (first time I've tried to build any of those), but unfortunately they won't be ready by FliteFest.

Unfortunately, I have no idea where OctoUfo was and will not make it. But, I did find the Singlecopter! Also brought a Tricopter that has quite a few 3D parts.

I should have a tent on the flight line somewhere, usually down toward the right of the runway. I get there later in the afternoon on Thursday, so all the "prime" spots are usually taken. Feel free to stop by. :)

You can't miss me, I'm told my Avatar captures my essence. ;)

These look gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!

It sounds like Flitefest is delayed due to a very wet field. Hopefully it dries out so they can put the tents
Well, unfortunately I won’t be making it this year after all. We were planning to leave fairly early on Saturday due to some other commitments, and with the delayed opening and the long drive to get there, we just decided not go this year… But there’s always next year!

My Co-Flow demonstrator will be there, maybe doing some data collection flights. I'm starting to experiment with hybrid foamboard / 3dprint construction on other builds as well: Foamboard to keep weight down on large, simply-curved surfaces, and prints for fine details, compound curved geometry, and structural hardpoints / features

Well as much as I wanted to do this and several other get togethers, this was Definitely a year of Flex-Fest with the weather pushing the schedule out. Great to meet those of you who I did, wish I could have met more, and there is always next year!

Cheers!
