3D printer making clicking sounds

So I am printing with PETG for the first time and suddenly my printer is making a clicking sound. I thought it might be the drive skipping on the filament, but I marked it and it seems to be feeding fine. Any thoughts on what I should look for.

Extruder temp too high? Maybe moisture in your filament... Definitely not an expert

Well, I think I found the issue, although it might not be the root cause. I checked my print a little later and it was printing in air. I stopped the print and tried to unload the filament and it would not move. I cut the filament at the drive gear and I could not pull out the upper part. The filament was jammed in the guide. Not sure if there was a large diameter section that got caught. Finally got everything out and now need to clean the gear and try again.
