3D printer + Thingiverse = 5 turn helical FPV antenna

After seeing the Bruce of New Zealand (RCModelReviews on YouTube) I thought I would have a go at making my own directional antenna.
So far, so good. Printed the unit and the former - had some silver coated copper wire left over from jewellery making and have got to here...

Have ordered the semi-solid coax cable and SMA connector. Just got to sort out some aluminum or the like for the reflector.
If you fancy making one, and have a 3D printer the link is here.

Finished this antenna and tested it on Sunday.
Placed the quad at one end of the flying field pointing towards the other far end, running at 25mw. This means the quads antenna was angled away from me, transmitting through the top mount battery and with all the frame and electronics in the path.
At ground level I was able to get a clean signal over 200 meters away, no signal whatsoever with a Pagoda omni-directional, I'm very impressed indeed!!!
