long time no see flight test folks.
its been a long time since ive done any rc projects. recently i got myself a 3d printer for verious reasons and printing an rc plane was one of them by now weve seen the 3d printed planes and suprisingly they fly nicely. i have the files ready for one such printable plane the spitfire avaible on thingyverse. i know that most people are printing them with either high impact pla or a petg filament. now, im wondering.... how would one of these planes preform being brinted from a wood filament? to me its only natral to think wood for this seing as weve been using wood for this hobby since the beginning. thaughts ????

Might work...most of the wood filaments are just PLA with wood added to them. The big question how it would affect the weight.

I'd try printing a test piece in PLA and the wood filament with similar settings and then comparing their weights to get a feel for how much of a difference there may be.

I think I remember seeing Tom Salanderer on youtube testing wood filled PLA and finding it was weaker than traditional PLA. That does not mean you can make a plane out of it, it just might suffer a little more in the event of a crash. Whatever you choose, please show us the prints and build process!

You got it man.
I'm going to do a couple test runs with the pla and the wood but it'll be some time next month when I can order more filament
