3D Skunkworks Build Thread - Scratch 3D Foam Board Plane

Building a newly designed foam board 3D plane. This is the initial design made in Sketchup with some help for JasonEricAnderson's tutorials.

Planning on powering the model with a Turnigy D3536/8 1000KV 430W motor, 3S 2200mah LiPo, Turnigy Plush 40A ESC.

All scaled up on Sketchup. Going to start the build on the new plane.

Going to try out these Tower Pro SG92R servos. Interesting to see how the actually perform. Specs look good. Carbon gears too.

I have to report that the Elmer's Foam board is the best I have seen. It has no ripples, straight, seems pretty high quality for foam board.

It is. It's just heavier than DTFB, but I think the weight is negligible...

I think it's a lot heavier than $Tree foam. The paper alone is a lot thicker and also much much harder to remove.

Aero, what's your AUW?. Also what wingspan did you end up with?. Looks like an awful lot of power for it's size
