So my pancake plane didn’t really achieve the goals I had for it due to its high wing loading and low stability and since I was also a bit jealous of my friend’s cub I decided to make a flat foamy version my self

The picture above is a little bit older and was took before I put on the wing struts

Im a bit worried about yaw stability because of how tall the fuselage is and the required cg location so I will probably need to extend the vertical stabilizer

How do you guys think the wing strut would effect flight characteristics?

My gut feeling says not much - but I'm also curious to hear how it really goes.
You could also test with bamboo stick struts and compare the results.

Rn with these big struts is that I hoped it would add lift which it will prob add a small amount of it but it also effectively adds a ton of dihedral so I think aileron effectiveness would decrease a bit and the yaw roll coupling will be crazy especially with the tall fuselage with the high wing. I’m not too sure if this is a problem to be worried about yet and I will prob try out thinner struts most likely out of some wood dowels since I don’t have bamboo on hand at the moment.
