3DLabPrint P-51 & QTraner

Just thought I'd share my latest 3D prints, both from 3DLabPrint. The QTrainer is printed in Hatchbox PLA, the P-51 in eSUN PLA PRO.

The QTrainer had its first flight last weekend, and the P-51 should fly this Saturday. Assuming it survives, they'll both be coming with me to FliteFest next week. :)

Rather than paint & stickers, everything is 3D printed, even the decals. As an example, the stars are printed in 4 .05mm layers, 1st two being white, 2nd two in black, then just glued into place.

Looking good! On the P-51 maiden, be sure you balance it a tad bit nose heavy. Also, give yourself plenty of room to land. It does drop a wing tip if you get too slow.

Thanks, that's good advice. I've already built and flown the Spitfire (RIP) and a previous P-51, but you are 100% correct about the P-51 dropping a wing at slow speeds. I'm thinking a Stearman may be my next project...but we'll see what survives FliteFest. :p
