6 Channel Recievers

After going through all the other threads concerning this question, it appears no one else has thought of this one. Is there a reason why 6 channel recievers are used in all the swappable power pods? I have a Spectrum AR400 reciever and can not think of one reason why it can not be used.

Could it be lighter in weight? Size diifference?

Because the 6 channel orange rx receivers are only 6 bucks. A four channel will work just fine.
