No I dont get it it sounds very complicated.

If you want a 60% build ace. Lets start you off with the printing of the plans first. Go to the Ft plans and select print but before you print change the scale from 100% to 60% then print... after that cut and tape the plans together getting them ready to tranfer to foam board... when you get to this point then we will help you out from there

800mm Supermarine Spitfire Mk I

Nerdnic,

I just finished doing the maiden flight on the 800mm Supermarine Spitfire based on your earlier plans (http://forum.flitetest.com/showthre...available-by-request&highlight=800mm+spitfire). Great plans, the plane flies very well and she looks awesome in the sky.

The plans are well done and very clear. My only suggestion would be to update the fuselage plans and mark recommended places for the rudder and elevator servos. My guesstimation on servo placement extrapolated from the full sized FT plans turned out correct but I am sure others would appreciate that addition. Otherwise, the plans are first rate.

I kept the power down to keep her a little more scale, running a Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 2826-1240kv Brushless Outrunner at 150 w (https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-aerodrive-sk3-2826-1240kv-brushless-outrunner-motor-1.html###) turning an APC Electric 8X4 prop, a Turnigy Plush 30a esc (because overkill is better than the Blue Smoke of Failure; https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-plush-30amp-speed-controller.html) and a Turnigy Non-Tech 1300 mah 25-50C battery (https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-nano-tech-1300mah-3s-25-50c-lipo-pack.html). The AUW is 521.4 g, wing loading is an easy 13.2 oz/sq ft, and the battery + spinner give her the correct, slightly nose-heavy balance.

After trimmer her out, she flew very well. The elevator certainly has authority and I may tone it down a bit for future flights. I may also swap out the Aerodrive motor for an old NTM 28-26 1200kv motor I have lying around to see if that gives her a little more authority in the air.

I have attached photos of my Spitfire, done up like a Mk I, circa 1940 and the Battle of Britain. As mentioned before, she really looks good in the air.

All-in-all, a nice plane. Well done and Tally Ho!

Great job! I really dig the paint. The 800 spit has been one of my top planes for a long time. I actually just finished designing an original 800 spit and I hope to release it soon.

Here's my 80% Spitfire, ready for a maiden. If I don't destroy it I will be finishing the blue foam top and giving it some colour!

In the UK the easiest board for me to get hold of is Westfoam 5mm, it's quite brittle and has thick paper and glue - you cant easily get the paper off! Building with it is not the easiest!

This is running a NTM 26-28 1350kv with a 6x4 on a 1400 3S. About 200w and 520g.
