Paul, you'll have to pull out the tweed suit for your next vid (flyfishing or flying)

Well I'm going to have to do something like that to stand out. Thomas has all of a sudden improved out of sight. His quad flying kills mine and he FPVed the TekSumo yesterday at the beach and it was amazing!! . . I had better either improve my flying or dress up better lol

Paul, that announcement brought a smile to my face. Way to go Thomas. By the way Paul I PM'd you asking for GoPro Hero 3 measurements if you have them.

Thanks

Thanks Thrumond! Don't worry, I'll do my best to lift my game :)

I'll check the PM now. BTW: Was it with or without casing?

I'd like the dimensions with the casing :)

Andre, the only difference in Hero 2 and Hero 3 is the thickness that is 10mm less for the Hero 3 (thanks for that Paul) thus the GoPro claim that it is 30% smaller since the original was roughly 30mm. I would therefore surmise that the case is the same in height and length for the Hero 3 but 10mm less in the depth.

Case for Hero 2 is 73mm wide across the back 60mm tall and 38mm thick. Of course there is a protrusion for the latch, lens, front button and mount not taken into account in these measurements.

Thomas is a natural pilot! As a middle-ager who's just entering the hobby I feel a bit sheepish watching him fly, and hoping I can do that well someday. ;-)

Thanks so much for posting,

Thanks Gryf :)

Yes he's come a long way in a short time. As much as I would like to think of myself as the better pilot, realistically I'm pretty sure he is way better . . just that he hasn't realised it. With Quads, he kicks my butt!!
