A Fast Correx Bloody Baron

@Houndpup Rc, Yes, much better then me. Only the prop broke. It was not even painted then. The blue F18 on post #12 is the same jet after the incident.

@Mr Man, I also asked them why would I do that on purpose 🤣 I think non-aviation people don't understand what a pusher jet is, I think they think of the prop as always at the front of the plane so one would have to put their finger there deliberately to see 'what happens'.

So my Bloody Baron is painted now. Was a bit of a mission tbh. Trying to do 2 colors on correx is always a mission because even after 3 days of letting the paint dry, when I masked the yellow and sprayed the black, then remove the masking tape - it just peels the yellow away. I used silver vinyl to cover up my mistakes as best as I could.

I tried a 5x5 prop with the 2212-2700kv motor but it didn't make it go quicker, it made it go soooooo much slower that I only flew for 1min, its probably not making enough thrust, needs more kv. I'd like to try my 6x5.5 prop but at 43A on the bench my thinking is it will be slower then the 6x4 because its probably stalling the motor and it'll most likely overheat. Not sure though how far these 2212's can go though before they give up.

AUW with my 3S 1500 45C Lipo is 603g. Pitty I am off by 3g 🤣
Without the batt I am at 477g. Paint work did add some weight in the end but it does look cool in the sky.

Dunno, if you're not ready for how it flies, heavy should be an asset, kinda like expo. Will round the corners on a square loop, somewhat, but it has to be killer in a combat match

You need to etch the surface for paint to stick if you AREN'T using what they recommend

@Mr Man, 603g on a flat Bat. 750g full fueled 😂

@Piotrsko, I am not going to combat this plane since my club doesn't do that unfortunately, its a very small club. This was just built for fun and to get some stick time after a few failed 3D printed planes. I built a separate 1200kv motor pod to try for some longer flights. The plan is to make muscle memory with this plane, so many many flights.

Found that if you show up with a combat plane, you eventually have someone wanting to crash your airplane with theirs. That was my point with the ultimate combat plane I once made. The dufus who always tried combat with everybody found his plane stuck on my topside. Flew out to way over the ocean, inverted, and his plane went swimming at the bottom of the cliff. Never saw that dufus again, think the remains are still down there.

hope your experience is different

Our club is not very large either, the way we started combat is another member and myself built a few Bloody Barrons with out any electronics. Him and I flew combat against each other did not take long now everyone wants to fly combat so we handed out our seed planes and it took off from there.

Morals thirty-forty years ago were a lot more tribal and brutal. Part of the reason old people think the newer generations are way.too.soft.

Been watching Dick Van Dyke and Carol Burnett on you tube. Lot of the humor isn't funny to me today, was hilarious back then. Watched a show I remember having me laugh like a mad man. Didn't find it funny in the least.

YMMV
