to me the killer is he brushed motors, ill get interested in building something like this when i can have brushless

yeah, i am learning motor sizes all i know now are the 1806s, and 2204s for the minis..

but what is the smallest size brushless motor on the market right now i see the CC3D ATOM is small. i think im gonna order one.. for my next project..


and id guess anything under 140 would be a nano, 180-250 would be a mini, smaller than 140 a micro?
i dunno i hate labels my self.. fly it like you stole it and let people try to figure out what the hell it is.

Yea brushless motors are a little too big to fly indoors safely I basically want it to hit someone without too much pain (not hitting any one on purpose!). I have a younger niece that's almost 3 and I want her to like it! And also it needs to be reasonably quiet. These things will come but right now brushed seems best, but if you can find a brushless motor equivalent I would love to see it!

i found these two videos using brushless. they seem small to fly in the house.. but yeah im not sure if you want smaller, etc.

i think id be ok with that size for my own use.. now i wish i knew what size motor he used for the second video.. that nano is the size of his hand. with brushless.

Cool! I was thinking of something to fly around the house outside and make it waterproof too so good stuff!

i want to build an octo with motors/props the size of that protox nano. that way i can haul around a micro FPV setup.

with a good set of guards on it, and if it was dialed in right, you could use it to inspect all sorts of things like attics and crawlspaces for home inspections.

That could be possible but the size means it will be pretty hard. Maybe wiring two motors to one output can make it possible but it will operate like a quad in the config but will have two motors running like one would

hence the question... whats the smallest FC that supports true octo flight. best i've seen have 6 sets of pins... not 8

It would operate like an octo would it would be configured like a quad. The problem with an octo is the escs are embedded in the flight controller and usually there is 4 escs. These boards dont have an output for more (I think -_-) escs, so unless you can find some microscopic brushed escs and a controller board it will probably be done in the configuration. Now if you know of some of this stuff and can help me find or make your self I would LOVE for that to happen!
