Aeroscout Wing kits I've developed.

I designed three Aeroscout wings, the Swept Back, Slow Flyer and the latest, the Stunt Wing. These are all balsa and thin ply built up and are pretty easy builds. The first two sets are a customers builds, the last two are my own. I go by Happy RC Flyer, Happyrcflyer.com is the website that has more details and photo's of them.

beautiful! let's see some flying video of each please!

my first serious plane was an aeroscout. I flew the heck out of it, and crashed the heck out of it. :eek:
great model, but it finally had so many repairs, I couldn't get it to fly right. she's a hanger queen now. :cool:

Thanks! It's a very popular trainer for sure. I felt bad for the people crashing them so the first one was the Slow Flyer wing so they could fly tail feather control, ditch the SAFE gyro, and learn to fly in a more gentle, slower format as I did in my earlier days. The Swept wing was more for performance and speed, also can handle inverted better since it has no dihedral, and again, to help prevent crashing since the stock wing has it's limitations. The latest one being the simplest to build has a symmetrical airfoil and it's for those that are pushing the limits on acrobatics, inverted flight, etc.,

I did design up an additional, multi purpose use for the Swept back wing so it can double as it's own flying wing all together, in a sense making it two planes in one.

I'm sharing the latest version I call the Aeroscout Sport Wing. I went with hot wire EPS foam core base with balsa and thin ply additions. It comes in at 179 grams, not bad since the stock one is 240 and my Tower Pro metal gear servo's are heavier then their cheap plastic ones. I'm doing the full kit at $40.00, shipped, with $30.00 for a short kit version of it.

It's covered in Doculam that I did a fade effect with some specialty paint that works with it.

My next direction with these are producing a fuselage that will accommodate them for the non Aeroscout owners which is going to reach a much larger amount of people. I'm leaning towards a profile design for simplicity in build and development.

Last nights progress on the new fuselage that will accommodate the Aeroscout wings I developed.

I used it's stock fuse for the scaling and starting point and took a lot of creative liberty for better styling. I may end up doing the front part in foam and the tail/rest of of it in balsa. Also, I'm using cheap mainstream Park Flyer gear, the stock Aeroscout gear will also work as well. I'll be using a 5" prop for it.

I took this one into Blender to get some 3d views before committing the materials towards. I can use the left over dowel stock I always end up with the Slow Stick full kits or I can go with just a solid piece of stock for the boom/aft end of the fuse. Both configurations maintain aesthetic appeal.

I got the fuse forms cut out and leaving the laminate surface in tact I was able to laser cut through, but it took 24 passes at full power.

More assembly progress, taped in place tail feathers for photo purposes. I'm going to call it the Alt-Aero for now. Weighing up the airframe and the gear that will be going with it comes out to one pound flying weight!

I did design up a more complex but lighter tail/boom system for it earlier, it's optional to order and meant to be paired with one of the balsa based wings to make the plane overall lighter.
