Aerospace Vehicle Operation Guidelines

Hi,

Here is a minimum set of Aerospace Vehicle Operation Guidelines for RC and AC to follow and comment on. We have been using these for over 30 years.

1. Aerospace Vehicles will be operated in such a manner as to give way to any other Aerospace Vehicle.

2. Aerospace Vehicles will be operated in such a manner as to NOT cause damage to Persons or Property.

3. Aerospace Vehicle Operators are liable for damages to Persons and Property.

4. Aerospace Vehicles may be operated at up to 500 feet, if operated at greater than 500 feet, the Operator must be in contact with the Airport Controller or Area Controller by Radio.

5. When operating within 1 mile of an airport or controlled area, the Operator will inform the Airport Manager, or be in contact with the Airport Controller or Area Controller by Radio.

6. Aerospace Vehicles maybe operated at a range of up to 1 mile, if operated at a range greater than 1 mile the Operator must inform the Airport Manager, or be in contact with the Airport Controller or Area Controller by Radio.

7. When operating within 500 feet or on an Airport Runway the Operator must be in contact with the Airport Controller or Air Traffic by Radio.

8. Aerospace Vehicles will be preflight checked and tested before operation.

9. Aerospace Vehicles will be operated at a site and in conditions that are suitable for their capabilities and the capabilities of the Operator, and with the permission of the site owner.

10. An Operator will not operate an Aerospace Vehicle will under the influence of any substance that could adversely affect the Operators ability to operate the Aerospace Vehicle.

11. Aerospace Vehicles will have an Aerospace Vehicle Identification Number (AVIN) or identification information affixed to the Aerospace Vehicle.

12. Aerospace Vehicles will have Anti-Collision and Identification Lighting while operating at night.

13. An Aerospace Vehicles weight will not be greater than 50 pounds, if the weight is greater than 50 pounds the Operator must inform the Airport Manager, or Airport Controller or Area Controller by Radio.
