Solved Ailerons are moving with Elevator Control since installing Aura board

I understand that you can mix controls (rudder with ailerons and such), but I've checked and I see no elevator/aileron mix. I've just installed an aura board (took me hours due to my noobness). I'm using the preinstalled Aura model in my Pocket ERLS Tx. I finally got everything working on my MightyMini when I noticed the airlerons were working in tandem with my elevator control. The ailerons work normal (with no elevator involved) when using aileron control. Like I said, I've checked mixes and see none. On the Aura I have 1. Throttle, 2. ailerons, 3. nothing, 4. Elevator, and 5. Rudder. I have my ER4 plugged into the SBus pins to the side coming from channel 2 of the rx (elevator). I'm beginning to think this is the problem, but I'm not sure what to do about it. (I plugged the SBUS into channel two of the rx because that is where I finally discovered the Aura will communicate with the rx). Sorry for the messy question. I'm seeing a connection between channel two on the Aura ( ailerons) and channel two on the RX (elevator). Not sure of a course of action.

That aura board kicked my butt. I'm setting it aside until some future day when I have recovered from my emotional wounds. :) Configuring it (which I have not successfully done even with Josh's videos) has proven harder than flying my battered planes without it. I'm sure the aura is great, but I'm not worthy (and too inexperienced). [sigh]

When you decide to revisit it, use the windows configurator to make the adjustments and make sure you have the latest firmware. Flex Innovations makes the Aura and firmware. Unfortunately there have been small changes in the way the boards work with newer releases of the firmware that the original configuration videos do not always hold true now.

I Have a few of them and keep current on the latest setup and quirks that the boards have. We can help you get it working correctly.

Cheers!

Okay, I'm back at it. I went into the aura config, and changed wing type (inspired by what you said in your first message). I changed the wing type to what you see in the photo (2 ailerons and 1 elevator and 1 rudder. Looks good, but when I go to write it to the aura I get the attached error message. What am I missing?

I had the same problem. Here is the thread:

Thread 'Message: Flight Mode 2 cannot use Level Assist Control Mode'
https://forum.flitetest.com/index.p...2-cannot-use-level-assist-control-mode.79794/
Thanks,
Your notes and your screen shots were very helpful. I did just what you did and the 6axis field still would activate. I then installed the new bootloader and then the new firmware (1.25 from 1.21). Things worked out much as you described after that. I had to respecify wings and tail again, and then go specify 6 axis control for Control Mode B again. In the setup screen the "Allow 6 axis calculation" field was automatically set to "on." Finally it all worked correctly. I'll tell you what, the plane is a little too stable in Stabilize mode :). Slowest 180 degree turn I've ever seen. I had to switch to Acro to actually fly the plane. :) I lightly caught a wing while landing. I decided to fly one more time before going in. The plane did a nose dive after I threw it. I discovered the Aura had come loose on my imperfect landing and was giving unrealistic readings. I have much to learn about the Aura board.
Thanks again for your help!

Litterbug,
Thanks for getting my feet back on the ground. Between you and Mr. NCT the board is operational on my MightyMini. I appreciate it.

You can alter the turn and bank and climb and dive limits in the aura set up, but it’s been so long. I forgotten how. @LitterBug is probably all over it!
