Apologies if you've already covered these questions:
  1. Is that just DTFB for the tube?
  2. Yeah, weight too? (@L Edge)
  3. How'd you roll it so perfectly round especially at the seam?
  4. When flying, how do you visibly know which side is up/down/left/right so you don't direct it the wrong way?

By having the concentration and the only way to land these is in no wind.
You do need to have 3 axis control so you need prop flow across all. Toughest was yaw on trying to land. Even played with 2 motors facing each other cw/ccw in upper centerline section to get rid of the torque.
There were no plans, so you tried from what you know.

No worries!

1. The tube and fins are carefully bent flite test Addams board. I used recycled 6" EPS discs about 1'' thick for the bulkheads, just hot glued in.
2. I have not weighed it yet. I am thinking 3lbs. Which is funny, its way heavier than that AIM-9 from the video, so it will probably be a rodeo on the maiden (trying to trim it)
3. I peeled one sheet of paper off one side and used a 3" PVC pipe I had laying around to hand bend it to 'mold it'
4. I had an idea of ripping the AR636B (AS3X/SAFE) receiver out of my Turbo Timber and bind it in SAFE mode, to keep wings level, but then I read on the RC groups I might alter the firmware on accident that has the SAFE programming if I plug in my Spektrum programmer and set it up for EVELONS. I don't want to risk it. Its the only SAFE Rx I have.
I will probably spray one fin BRIGHT florescent Orange to tell orientation.

Cool having access to the real thing... or at least a dummy of a real thing.

My old man is one of those retired guys hanging out in the air and space museum, he gives tours. He 'looked the other way' when I stepped over the rope and took that picture.

I think it's great! It was especially funny when you said you had no camera man... and how you asked us (the audience) if we could see it?
