I just got mine as well and can't figure out how to attach the servo to the pushrods. The parts kit has fasteners but they are too large to fit through the hole in the servo arm. This is my first build so I'm missing something dumb, but I don't know what it is.

JRVATL, welcome to the forums.

You will need to bore out the hole in the servo arm.

Carefully use a small drill bit or the tip of your cutting blade to open it up a little. If you use the tip of the blade, work a little at a time from the front and the back (top/bottom) equally.

It only needs to be big enough for the linkage stopper to fit through. If you make it much bigger, you will get slop in the connection or possibly break the servo arm. If the hole is to small and you force the linkage stopper though, you could break the servo arm.

Linkage stoppers are not part of the kit or the electronics packs. They are optional and you can order them from the FT store, but they are not included with the kits. You can use z bends on both ends of the push rods, bet then you need to be incredibly accurate with your bends. I would recommend picking up some linkage stoppers and make it easy on yourself.

Stoppers are definitely part of the pack. Like the man said, use a small drill bit to widen the whole. I actually did mine by hand with a small bit.

yeah i saw that too i wonder if others didn't get some in there packs do i still have to drill if i got linkage stoppers

The holes in the servo arm are sized for wire. You need to enlarge the hole for a linkage stopper - just enough that they can spin.

My bad, sorry about that. I didn't know that they started including them in the kits.

About the linkage stoppers, yup sometimes you need to drill out the servo arm holes larger OR, if said servo is hard to get to later i attach my linkage stopper to the control horns, I'd say 90% of my planes i put the linkage stoppers on the control horn. And seeing as i have ape hands, I usually don't have a small drill bit that isn't broken so I heat up an appropiate sized finish nail with a propane torch and melt my way thru, works on woos control horns to, just make sure you hold the nail with pliers unless your fingers are made from asbestos.

Take Andre's advice, take it slowly. I had planes that were warped that I could have fixed if I saw it and fixed it, but I was going way too fast and ended up with planes that stalled and always turned one way.

I used a pit of my kids nail polish to the lock the nut on the linkage stopper. Remember they need to turn in the servo so don't tighten too much.

Watch the video before you even open the package.

Then watch it as you build. STOP!!! Any time you are unsure if you saw how they did something.

Rewind, watch it again, until you're sure.

Continue building, pausing when they get ahead, rewind to where you are just a little ahead of them, then continue.




That's my build advice for you.
