Hahaha, and I'd convince him to go 64mm 3s. As so many have a 3s 2200 in the bag. But maybe there will be a scaling option for everyone??? HmmmI’m trying to convince him to go 90mm
The prop version should be able to haul around a 3s 2200, EDF setup will use a 4s 1300.Hahaha, and I'd convince him to go 64mm 3s. As so many have a 3s 2200 in the bag. But maybe there will be a scaling option for everyone??? Hmmm
Ok, I have to warn you about 50mm's. I've tried and tried they just don't produce enough umph to push anything around decently. If you step up to 64mm 3s. We all have them in our bag. And look how fast my latest Mirage 2000 is going. I think I'm actually done messing with 50mm they just can't do it... just a suggestion for success...50mm EDF and the option to run a pusher prop.
So far it's worked great for multiple designs, do you have the fms 12 blade 4s version?Ok, I have to warn you about 50mm's. I'm waiting for 2 QX motor 50mm 12 blade 4s to come in the mail. I'm going to try them out. I was working with Powerfan 50mm 11 blade 4s and I just find them not that powerful and sluggish. So far it's worked great for multiple designs, do you have the fms 12 blade 4s version?

Which 64mm and 70mm edf’s do you use? I’m thinking about getting some of the cheap 6 blade Amazon ones.Ok, I have to warn you about 50mm's. The bdf is more efficient for its bigger propeller size, if you duckt an 13" propeller its going to be even more efficient fan. So you might as well put a pusher prop on your jet. Only the edf can provide the scale look and power for a jetThey basically take a drone motor and 3 blade prop and put them in a tube like an edf would be. It's efficient but stupid as well. In my opinion anyways.
https://shihaocao.com/f86.html There you can find oneHas anyone said the F-86 Sabre yet?
That Mig would be super simple to design. You know jets are actually simpler to make and design that prop airplane. You don't need help!! You just need a little self trust when scratch building. Just go at it and let's see what you can do...Anything to build up the EDF sector at this point would be cool. Personally, a mig 25/31 or a Convair Kingfish would be nice. They're both simple designs in terms of the square fuselage and simple enough wings, and both have massive engines, which on the RC would lead to keeping the inlets scale while preserving performance.

Yeah, I find that whenever I'm designing a new airplane, I just start hacking foam until it works. That Mig would be super simple to design. Here, it's half built for you. Twin 50's... copy this approach. Toss a couple elevators in place, add a wood spar across both and center frame, fold a couple wings and your done...Anything to build up the EDF sector at this point would be cool. I have no idea. I think they are wrapped up in so many other things and directions, they probably don't bother or haven't got the time.I love the Electra!
Does flite test even look at this thread?
