"Alp" inspired Corsair build

"Alp" inspired Corsair build is nearly complete. A few unforseen challenges along the way. Decided to go with detachable wing for access and ease of transport. Used a turnigy 2836 1000kv motor and 2200 10x6 prop, 2200 3s lipo for power. Admiral 6ch stabilizer rx. Also going with 1/4 turn Hobbyking retracts as I do not think the gull-wing will lend itself to belly landings. The biggest challenge was what to do with the split elevator situation. I wanted the control rods to remain under the Turtle deck, and therefore had to put the control horns on the bottom. Ended up using 2 servos, one for each side, and Y harness them together like ailerons. Seems to work fine although I have never seen anyone else do this. Planning on buttoning her up this weekend and, weather permitting, maiden flight soon. I have high hopes for this beast.

When I built mine I needed the battery all the way forward. If I remember correctly he left the bottom of the nose open for that?

I think Alp did it that way. I like the battery hatch on top, so that's how I did it. Lipo all the way to the firewall seems to balance at the spar with everything installed but the retracts. And they will be slightly forward of the spar(cg) anyway so I think I will be golden. She's a biggun.

Anyone have any views or ideas on what MrJoshua1313 said as to whether the Corsair will make a good belly lander due to the Gull wings as opposed to a landing gear ?
