As telnar1236 stated, check out and do range testing of your plane by going out with the reduced signal(accord to brand) and then check the controls by walking a complete circle around the plane. If any loss or controls jiggling around, don't fly. The other is it may be good on the ground, but once in the air due to distance, it can hit.
The other option possible is some receivers has connections to install satellite receivers where you say mount the main one horizontal and then as far back in the model as you can, mount the satellite vertical. That solved mine and since your model looks real nice, it could save your plane.
