I have an old Berkley Models "Zilch X-pendable" and i am wondering how much it is worth. The kit is original and has all the parts with it. The balsa wood has been taken out of the sheets but the wood is still in great condition. I got the kit from my dad, who got it from an aunt who bought it from an auction in the 1970s. Apparently this specific kit is dated between the 50s and 60s. The box is in pretty rough condition and it has the original instruction sheet. I have heard numbers from 80$ to a couple thousand. Does anyone have any idea if it does hold some value?

It's only worth what you can get someone to pay for it, and control line kits don't sell too quickly.

The plans for this model are available free on Outerzone at https://outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=2766 and a new laser cut short kit is $39 here http://lazer-works.com/misc.html and I also saw in 2019 someone trying to sell the kit for $50 on a Control Line Stunt website.

So as a kit for someone to build, I wouldn't expect to get a whole lot for it, and collectible value is really going to be tied to how close it is to mint condition. So not trying to burst your bubble here, but with a ragged box and the wood popped out of the sheets, it's not going to be in the thousands.

A good place to look for some expert comparisons to help set expectations are the listings of antique kits over here: https://www.thebestthings.com/rc_model_planes.htm

Good luck!
